Visual
Training/Therapy
We prefer the term training, because it is a learning process. Vision
is a developed process, which begins at birth, when there is light.
The old theory was that vision was “hardwired” at birth,
and therefore couldn’t be improved.
Visual
training is a carefully sequenced series of activities designed
to develop new and better visual motor and perceptual strategies.
Vision is something you do, not a passive reception of stimuli.
In visual training you learn to do it better, with less effort and
more efficiency. It takes time to literally build new circuitry
in the many visual centers in the brain. When they are established,
they are permanent, barring trauma. The ultimate goal is to achieve
effortless, automated, optimum visual performance. This allows any
patient, at any age, to operate at the level of their intelligence
potential. Please check back for more information.
